Yeo Wei Wei is a writer and translator based in Singapore. She was a university lecturer when she wrote her first short story. She left academia and went on to work in an arts school and art museum before becoming a self-employed educator, editor, and translator.

Wei Wei was the National Arts Council-Nanyang Technological University writer-in-residence in 2016. She was invited to teach at the Silliman University National Writers Workshop in the same year. In 2019 and 2022 she served as a judge for SingLit Station’s Manuscript Bootcamp (Prose Fiction).

Her short stories have been shortlisted and longlisted in the Glimmer Train short story contest and the Commonwealth Short Story Competition. Her translations have appeared in literary journals and anthologies. She was the translator of song lyrics and subtitles for The Songs We Sang, a blockbuster and critically acclaimed documentary about xinyao (Singapore Chinese urban folk songs).

Wei Wei holds a PhD in English from Cambridge University (2000) and First Class Honours in her BA in English and Related Literature from the University of York (1995). In 2017 she graduated with Distinction in her MA in Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia.
